Brief Bio

James Gort has been a lecturer at the Adler Planetarium, researcher at McDonald Observatory, and adjunct professor of astrophysics at the University of Ottawa. He's been grinding and testing precision optics and observing the heavens for over 60 years. Most recently, he fabricated a 250 mm achromatic lens for his 3-story homemade domed observatory.
